INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Colts coach Shane Steichen prefers being the aggressive play-caller. He likes taking chances on third down, would rather go for it on fourth down than punt and enjoys finding creative ways to stretch the field. Right now, though, Steichen can't simply rely on his instincts.
In his first NFL game in nearly five years, Indianapolis Colts' quarterback threw a touchdown pass in his first game back. With the Colts facing a 3rd-and-4 from the Seattle Seahawks ' eight-yard line, Rivers connected with Josh Downs for the touchdown. This capped off a 10-play, 58-yard scoring drive for the Colts' offense.
On Monday, Coach Steichen revealed that Rivers will be getting the start once again for Monday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 16, according to senior NFL insider Adam Schefter. Rivers held his own going up against the Seattle Seahawks, who have one of the best defenses in all of football this season.
